經歷2001年Come Clean的成功，第二代Puddle of Mudd後來出了一張表現普普的Life On Display(2003)，直到Famous（自譯「成名在望」）再度有幾首歌爆紅，他們也名符其實變得Famous again.

POM的核心人物無須多說就是Wes Scantlin，從出道故事（偽裝成Limp Bizkit的後台工作人員然後把Demo交給Fred Durst）可以知道Wes是滿汲汲營營於名利的，這首歌他把夢想中的好萊塢生活給刻畫出來：整天打混、耍大牌，卻坐領高薪，晚上去夜店會有很多拜金婊子倒貼，享盡榮華富貴.......Famous可以看出他對好萊塢明星生活的，該說是憧憬呢，還是一種刻板印象甚至誤解？或是真正的好萊塢就是這樣也說不定，哈哈。

只是後來這首歌的預言只有負面的部分成真了。Wes太想出名，卻承受不起成名的代價，Wes似乎跟團員一直處不來（也就是所謂的大頭症），在舞台外又一直惹禍，家暴、毒品濫用、在飛機上鬧事導致飛機迫降，多次的進出監獄仍然沒學乖，導致POM隨著他的聲譽而垮台，支持者也紛紛離去。"Be careful what you wish for" 這句歌詞，如今看來格外刺眼。

可是這首歌真的是post grunge毫無疑問的經典。
