Follow到最後，Dark Before Dawn的專輯整體歌詞都很有連貫性，重複的意象不斷出現，例如

1. 雲中日。樂觀的時候揮去烏雲(drive away the clouds)；悲觀或失敗時成為遮蔽太陽的烏雲(be the cloud that hides the sun)

2. 天國與人間的界線。從天國到人間是墮落(fall down)，上去則是上升(rise above)，穿越人間到天國是跨越了分水嶺(the great divide)。有時被拉扯下來(drag me down)，有時把惡魔拉下來(drag the devil down)

3. 所有的歌都在同一段時間發生：黎明前的黑暗(Dark Before Dawn)，那是一個光線曖昧不明的時刻，故事從第一首鋪陳音樂Dark，和承認自己的失敗開始，到最終戰勝惡魔，和最後一首黎明到來Dawn，是一個從「失敗」到「不再被擊敗」的心路歷程。

也是這次整理完之後，發現這是一張順序故事的概念性專輯。不過即使如此，這張專輯我還是沒有很愛，可能是曲子調性變得柔和，我比較喜歡I will not bow那種硬搖滾的風格，如果以這個標準來看，Breaking the Silence是最接近我喜歡風格的一首。不過，如果當成「介於輕與重的抒情搖滾」來看，我會說Breaking Benjamin已經自成一格，在市場上有獨一無二的棲位(niche)。
