↑ 說出來大家可能不相信，我是在樂手巢的這篇文章之後開始想要翻譯這首歌......我的天啊你看看都幾天了

引用內文，報導中提到，〈Scentless Apprentice〉是Kurt Cobain第一次取材具體的故事，以前他會避免這麼做，「但現在我越來越沒有想法，所以就傾向這樣了。」

為了理解這首歌在講什麼，小弟本人我拜讀了世界名著，德國作家徐四金的《香水》。歌名Scentless Apprentice即為故事的主人翁葛奴乙，歌詞基本上跟Kurt自己訪談提到的一樣，完全參考了小說的內容。

對我而言，作為Nirvana最"重"的歌之一，用香水的故事借題發揮非但不影響這首歌的音樂性，甚至我認為專門描寫「嗅覺」的故事內容，完美襯托Nirvana音樂的「原始慾望」核心。至於原因，請見翻譯後的解說時間

歌詞講的是感情上的「重組」，要對方(前女友)坦承兩人關係早已生變

MV則是「重審」，原想延續首屆愛與和平精神的1999年胡士托音樂節Woodstuck '99，最後發生多起慘烈事件，結束時現場杯盤狼藉。limp bizkit當時被指控在Woodstuck'99 上「煽動群眾破壞公物」，Fred Durst則認為聽眾只是發洩自己的負能量

從頭到尾不斷重複的think about it 加上bassline是這首歌的標誌

Fred Durst把Worcester念錯了，是念接近中文譯名的伍斯特（麻州城市，取名來自英國地名，伍斯特醬的發明地），並不是"ch"的音

然後又用一個很糟糕的字molester (性騷擾犯/性侵犯) 來押韻，難怪一天到晚被炎上

第二段可以想像成Fred Durst的謝詞時間

因為不明原因，沒有在spotify上架 (就連單曲也第一時間放上spotify而非youtube的樂團來說，這樣的舉動頗為可疑?)，可說是BMTH的祕寶。

有多神秘? 我聽了10年的Bring Me The Horizon，結果前天才知道有這首歌   哈哈 (十分羞愧

既聽之則譯之，既然聽到了那就翻譯吧!

chasing rainbows 直譯為「追逐彩虹」，指追逐不可能的目標。放入中文脈絡應該是夸父追日(夸父逐日)最為貼切了。

第一代Three Days Grace的最後一張專輯金星凌日

chalk outline就是案發現場地上用粉筆畫的那個輪廓，只要一有圖片大家就知道我在講什麼了

示意圖 (沒錢買圖庫 只好留浮水印)

但是chalk outline的中文是什麼，我左思右想都想不到一個直接的詞彙，直翻是「粉筆輪廓」，可是台灣有人這樣說嗎? 「案發現場的白線」感覺不夠言簡意賅，而且會不會跟警戒線搞錯啊?

總之，這首歌說的是最愛的人傷我最深，被狠狠地甩到旁邊去的人，把自己比擬作案發現場留下的粉筆輪廓，等待風雨吹打任其消滅。
